Chief Operating Officer and Director of Franchise Operations
Mr. Collins has served in his role as Chief Operating Officer since October 2013 and as Director of Franchise Operations since October 2012. Since September 2009, he has been Director of Sales for SRM Business Resources in Orland Park, Illinois. He served as Senior Regional Manager for Chicagoland west, near-north and near-south territories from October 2008 through August 2009. He also has an equity interest in some of the affiliate Charter Fitness clubs.
Senior Vice President of Franchise Development
Mr. Nichols has served in his role as Senior Vice President, Franchise Development since March 2015. Prior to that he served as Director, Franchise Business Development at Sears Hometown & Outlet Stores, Inc. in Hoffman Estates IL from October 2012 through March 2015 and in the same roles at Sears Holdings Corporation’s Hometown Unit from March 2011 through October 2012, prior to its spinoff as Sears Hometown & Outlet Stores in October 2012. Mr. Nichols also served as a political consultant for the Illinois State Republican Committee from June 2010 through February 2011 in Glenview IL.

Site selection is as much of an art as it is science. Our partnership with Alteryx gives you the analytics tools you need to navigate the commercial real estate market and make informed, data-driven decisions about establishing your Charter Fitness location. By analyzing areas based on demographics, market competition, traffic flow, zoning and ordinances, and a number of other variables that will influence the success of your franchise. We’ll also provide you with site specifications and layouts for your Charter Fitness club.
Charter Fitness will provide you with the computer hardware and software you’ll need to get your club up and running. We ensure that your membership database and electronic billing system is fully compatible with our systems. This turnkey solution is a fundamental step in making a fully-operational Charter Fitness club, allowing you to establish a streamlined cash flow.
We want to ensure you’re thoroughly prepared to open your Charter Fitness. The initial training will last approximately 12 days and consists of both classroom and hands-on training covering all facets of our operations, including equipment operation and maintenance, cost control, inventory control and management techniques .
The instructional materials and resources used at the initial training program cover information on Charter Fitness, establishing your business, day-to-day operating procedures, sales and marketing, working with suppliers and employees, quality control and other administrative issues.

While you will have the chance to take the wheel and drive your marketing strategy, we’ll be there to provide assistance and guidance to ensure you’re on the most successful track.
When you’re ready to open your Charter Fitness club, we will provide you with one of our trained representatives at no cost. Our representative will provide on-site pre-opening and opening training, supervision, and assistance to you for up to 3 days within the first 60 days of your Charter Fitness facility’s opening.
With our strong supplier relationships, you’ll never have to worry about your equipment again. We work with the industry’s top vendors to ensure your Charter Fitness club is supplied with the highest-quality and technologically-current fitness equipment on the market. In addition, our supplier partners maintain, fix and replace any malfunctioning equipment should the need arise.
