Why you should be Drinking Smoothies

Smoothies, juicing and just about any other form of drinking your veggies are having a serious moment in the health and fitness world. Need proof? Just check your Instagram feed. If you aren’t toting around a green juice after a sweat session or starting the day with a protein-packed smoothie, you’re missing out… socially (media) speaking.

It seems, however, this might be one trend that’s worth jumping on the bandwagon for, the smoothie bandwagon at least. Choosing a smoothie over juice offers the additional benefit of fiber as well as being easier to make at home. All you’ll really need to whip up a delicious smoothie is a blender and whichever ingredients you choose. No fancy-schmancy juicer required.

Here are a few more reasons to incorporate more smoothies in your life:

Portability
Eating breakfast or a snack on-the-run? Tote your smoothie around in a to-go cup and sip while on the move.

Produce
Smoothies are a great way to add extra fruits and veggies to your diet. Try adding a handful of leafy greens – you’ll hardly taste them!

Post-Workout Fuel
Adding a little bit of protein powder or protein-based food (i.e. peanut butter) to your smoothie provides your body with the carbs and protein it needs to recover from a workout.
