Update your Workout Routine during National Physical Fitness & Sports Month

We live in a society that loves to celebrate. Seriously, at any given time you can perform a quick Google search and find a “holiday” being observed that day. Well it just so happens May is National Physical Fitness and Sports Month as declared by none other than the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports, and Nutrition.

To us, that certainly seems like a cause worth celebrating. Being healthy and fit takes on a different meaning for everyone, so whatever your goal is, re-dedicate yourself to achieving it this month.

Here are a few ways to refresh your current fitness routine:

Change your Routine
Switching up your regular workout can be as simple as hitting the Stairmaster instead of the elliptical or as different as beginning a customized exercise routine with a personal trainer. Either way, change will help keep you interested and motivated while at the gym.

Buy New Exercise Gear
A shiny new pair of shoes or a brightly-colored running shirt just might be the extra push you need to get out the door. Showing off and using the new items you purchased makes going to the gym a little more enjoyable.

Find a Workout Buddy
Knowing you have someone waiting for you at the gym is another motivator to get you off the couch and ready to work out. Choose a friend who’s close to your fitness level and who’ll hold you accountable for your workouts. If you’re a Premium member at Charter Fitness, don’t forget about your free guest privileges.
