Changing your routine helps in many ways including fighting boredom at the gym. Another bonus – eliminating boredom usually eliminates some feelings of wanting to skip workouts. Plan different activities throughout the week and try to avoid doing the same activity two days in a row.

Challenging your body differently prevents muscles from adapting to exercises and allows you to work through plateaus and make greater strength gains. Additionally, varying exercises day-to-day helps you avoid injury caused by overuse.

Switch it all up
Adding variety to your routine comes in many forms, not just switching up the actual exercises you are doing. More ways to mix things up are to create a new workout playlist, hit the gym at a different time of the day or find a workout partner.
