Charter Fitness Cares: About CureSearch and the Ultimate Hike

Imagine hiking 30 miles in one day – a distance longer than that of a marathon, a challenge with a greater purpose. This fitness challenge, the Chicago area Ultimate Hike, benefits CureSearch for Children’s Cancer, a national nonprofit organization whose mission is to fund and support children’s cancer research.

On October 20, 2012, Charter Fitness employees Dan C. and Roger M. will take on the Ultimate Hike, but not before months of preparation, training and above all, raising awareness for the organization and its cause.

Currently, more than 40,000 children are undergoing treatment for cancer, but with research supported by fundraisers such as the Ultimate Hike that number can be lowered. If you’d like to support Dan and Roger’s efforts or learn more about the race, please visit the Charter Fitness Cares Ultimate Hike webpage.

Make sure to come back and visit the blog over the next few months as we detail the trials and triumphs of training for such an incredible fitness challenge.
