The next several months promise to be exciting for Charter Fitness members. The Chicago area health-club chain Cardinal Fitness has announced that it will be converting 38 locations into Charter Fitness clubs. The locations will include Chicagoland, Northwest Indiana and Central Illinois. With the conversion of the new clubs, Charter Fitness will have a total of 46 locations in six states. Converted clubs may receive; new facilities, renovations, updated equipment and increased number of personal trainers. Members can expect the conversions to begin on September 1st.

I am currently a cardinal fitness member. How much is it to enroll as a charter fitness member? Are all cardinal locations in the IL area being converted over?
As a Cardinal Member, you are automatically switched to a Charter Member if your home club converted. You don’t have to do anything. Enjoy your workout!
Will my account at Lockport and Homer Glen honored?
I recently became a member at cardinal fitness in the Illinois locations and I noticed that the facilities do not have the stairmaster stepper only the stairmaster stepmill. Since charter fitness bought out cardinal fitness, will they bring in the stairmaster stepper? The reason I ask because I read the news on how charter fitness going to convert cardinal clubs with new facilities, renovations, and updated equipment.
How about a 39th Charter Fitness location in Skokie, Illinois? Village Crossing shopping center on 5507 W. Touhy Ave. in Skokie, Illinois 60077 ? There is space available when I drive by….great location!!!! It is just screaming out “CHARTER, CHARTER!!!!” Just a thought….

What happened to the Olympia Fields location of Cardinal Fitness? The building that it was located in is vacant and for sale.

The Olympia Fields Cardinal Fitness was converted to Charter Fitness and moved to 3420 Vollmer Rd next to Bizio’s Market.
If there was tanning @ the Cardinal fitness before is was converted will it still be there @ the same price or package or with the 19.95 membership if its kept?

when did cardinal schaumburg switch over to carter fitness?
Charter offers a $10/month fee. I’m paying $19.95 with Cardinal. The 2 Cardinal locations within 5 miles of my house have converted to Charter. How do I receive the $10/month rate?

Will the Cardinal Fitness on in Algonquin be converted to a Charter Fitness?
I am a premium member; how can I take advantage of the bring a friend to my local club – she is my fiance’ and will join as a perm member once we are married so she can take advantage of all the locations.

I belong to the Cardinal Fitness in Lemont but work in Mokena but closer to the Charter Fitness in New Lenox. Why haven’t all of the clubs been converted. Why are some remaining Cardinal and are there plans to eventually convert those?
Is my old contract with cardinal fitness still valid since it was between me and Cardinal and not Charter?
Fellow member here. It sure looks like they will honor the new rate by providing options which are covered in their web site. Take a look at their website as pretty much all answers to the majority of questions are covered.
Will living social vouchers be honored?
I haven’t been to the gym in a few months and found out Charter has assumed my Cardinal Gym. Is Charter honoring the Cardinal contracts regarding pricing? Does Charter plan to inform the current membership of changes?
For Example: My monthly charge is $31.95 for 2 people under Cardinal…under the new Charter pricing, I would only be charged $20 for 2 people. I continue to be charged $31.95 per month thru autopay since your take over.
Per my Cardinal contract I’m charged $20 per person every January as an annual membership fee…I’m hearing Charter charges $60 per person.
I pay 19.95 a month now since I think I just got switched over the the premium memebership during the change. I saw that i can bring a friend to work out w/ me with this membership. Could it be the same friend each time or does it need to vary? My boyfriend is moving in with me for 5 months to finish up student teaching and can’t afford a whole years memebership and who knows where he’ll end up with a job, but he still wants to work out. WOuld he be able to come with me when I go most times??

I just went to my local Charter fitness club for Premium membership of $19.99. They told me that while joining fee is $1 till Dec 31st. I do have to pay $39.99 Annual Service fee. It does not matter I get the annual contract or decide to go month by month. What is this annual service fee? Was it there when club was Cardinal fitness? or this is something new?
This stopped me from getting the annual membership.
I work out at the Riverside location in Rockford Illinois. I would LOVE to see a stairstepper added to our location. I really miss this piece of equipment and am considering joining another gym who has it. I do not want to do this as I like all of the people at this location (Tom the morning attendent is FANTASTIC) Please consider getting this piece of equipment at this location. I just signed up for a membership at charter fitness. You can bring the same friend each time or switch friends. They just have to bring their ID and sign in when they come in with you.
i used to go to cardnel they hade the kids room ware some one would watch ur kid while u worked out. please tell me you guys are keeping that because i was waning to join again but i cant if you guys got rid of the kids room….
